Bodies found near shore identified as mother and daughter

A mother and daughter whose bodies were found ashore Wednesday at Sherman Cove near Pensacola Naval Air Station on Wednesday, are believed to have drowned, authorities and family said.

The bodies of Kimberly Tran, 32, and Katherine Tran, 8, both of Conyers, Ga., were discovered separately after 4 p.m. in the shallow water, authorities said.

Both are believed to have drowned, but the Medical Examiner’s Office has yet to release their cause of death, the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office said.
