Botnets Hit Windows XP More Often Than Windows 7

The updated statistic, which was gathered from 6.5 million computers around the globe that use Microsoft’s security software, indicates that Windows XP SP2 is most likely to be infected by botnet-related malware. For every 1000 scans, Microsoft’s Malicious Software Removal Tool (MSRT) found malware on 6.1 computers in the first half of this year. XP RTM followed with 5.1, SP3 with 5.0 and SP1 with 3.6.
