PANAMA CITY — A settlement agreement BP announced late last week could give the more than 6,000 Floridians with claims pending and those whose claims have been denied the chance to have them assessed under new criteria.
Since August 2010, BP has paid about $6.1 billion to more than 220,000 individuals and businesses who filed claims through the GCCF.
In Bay County, 36,607 claims filed by county residents and those who lived out of the county but claimed a loss here resulted in payments of $503.24 million, according to information posted on the GCCF website.
