Shortly after the wreck, Phelps and Hathaway called 911 and told investigators that Dillard had taken at least four hits of LSD and eventually became violent and tried to smother Hathaway with a pillow, the report states.
Dillard then chased Hathaway around the home with a large knife, Hathaway and Phelps said. Phelps disarmed Dillard and Dillard then left the home in a 1997 Chevrolet Blazer, the report states.
