Here is a little explanation for all of you that are wondering what a relief well is and how do you drill into a 8" diameter well bore over 15,000 feet below the ocean floor in 5,000 ft of water. Hopefully this will help the people without drilling experience understand a little better. The retired ARAMCO Engineer doing the drilling is 40 for 40 on hitting remote piping.
