The first drowning occurred Wednesday when 45-year-old Scott Carter was pulled from the waters after getting caught in a rip current near Surfside condominiums in Miramar Beach.
The Atlanta man was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola. He died early Monday morning.
On Sunday around 5:40 p.m. two men drowned in waters behind an area of South Spooky Lane in Santa Rosa Beach.
Memphis, Tenn., resident Annazar Nazarov, 44, got caught in a rip current and another beachgoer went into the water in an attempt to rescue him. Once in the water, 48-year-old William Haithcox of Spartanburg, S.C., also got caught in the rough waters.
Both were transported to Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast where they were pronounced dead.
