Local man collects old and broken cell phones for soldiers

Walton County's Bill Lane is offering an easier and more useful alternative for old or broken cell phones.

Lane and his wife, Carolynn, are providing Walton County citizens with an opportunity to donate their old or broken cell phones to a good cause.
Simply look for the red, white and blue boxes at designated locations, drop off the phone and Lane will take care of the rest.

According to Lane and his wife, for every cell phone donated, a soldier will receive an hour's worth of free minutes.

Currently you can drop off the phones at the Chevron station off U.S. Highway 98, the Haven House Thrift Store, Ace Hardware, the Santa Rosa Pharmacy,
Sherwin-Williams Paint Store in Grayton Beach, the Court House Annex, Chamber of Commerce, and the Mexican Market off U.S. Highway 98.
